1000-Lb. Sisters’ Amy Slaton addresses arrest after being bitten by camel in season 7 trailer: ‘Scared s—less’ (exclusive)
“They should be handcuffing the damn camel,” said Slaton, who took a plea deal in December.
Amy Slaton is breaking her silence on getting arrested on drug and child endangerment charges shortly after being bitten by a camel at a Tennessee zoo in the season 7 trailer for TLC’s 1000-Lb. Sisters.
“It was just supposed to be a fun family day,” Slaton explains in the exclusive trailer (above), “and it turned out to be the worst day of our lives.”
The 37-year-old reality star can be seen in the clip holding onto a bucket of feed to distribute to animals from her passenger seat window during a visit to Tennessee Safari Park last September. The camera briefly pans away to showcase another camel happily munching on the snacks when suddenly Slaton begins screaming, and a quick pan reveals that another camel is chomping on her upper arm.
“The camel just bit me,” she cries. “Am I gonna lose my hand?”

The bite, however, was just the beginning of Slaton’s problems. The Crockett County Sheriff’s Department revealed in a September press release that they responded to a call about Slaton’s bite injury, only to be “immediately overtaken by suspicious odors coming from the guest’s vehicle.” She and Brian Scott Lovvorn, who was driving the car, were both subsequently arrested on suspicion of illegal possession undisclosed substances and two counts of child endangerment.
“After the whole camel biting incident, the cops came in and started reading my rights,” Slaton adds as her mugshot is shown in the trailer. “They should be handcuffing the damn camel.”
Slaton’s family can be seen sitting her down for a heart-to-heart seemingly about the incident, which she does not take well. “This is not supposed to be an intervention,” she presses. When they deny that’s their goal, she tearfully replies, “It’s sounding just like an intervention to me.”

Her loved ones are quick to remind her of the severity of her charges as the camera cuts to footage taken within the courtroom. “If they throw the book at you, you’re looking at 30 years,” her brother Chris Combs says.
“I’m scared s—less,” Amy adds. “I just hope I don’t ruin my whole life.”
Slaton and Lovvorn both agreed to plea deals last December that saw their felony drug charges reduced to simple possession and their child neglect charges dismissed, local news outlet WLBT3 reports. They instead pled guilty to drug charges and were sentenced to two years of supervised probation by a Crockett County judge.

Elsewhere this season, Amy’s sister Tammy is forced to navigate her addiction to nicotine as she prepares to undergo her long-awaited skin removal surgery. “I’ve come so far in my weight loss journey,” she confesses, “but now I have even more insecurities about my body because I have so much loose skin.”
And love is in the air as Amy begins seeing a new suitor. “I met a man,” she says. “We’re moving so fast, but yet it just makes sense.”
