‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Tammy Slaton’s Proud Of Herself For Big Change
When 1000-Lb Sisters first began, Tammy Slaton put little effort into her weight loss endeavors. She often butted heads with her healthcare team, as well as her family members. But after a home visit from Dr. Eric Smith, she vowed to enter rehab and turn over a brand-new leaf.

Tammy Slaton Feels Proud Of Her Progress
Last week on 1000-Lb Sisters, fans watched the family travel to London to learn more about their heritage. Like on other family vacations, Tammy does have a few rough moments. Although her mobility has dramatically improved, she’s still not in shape enough to keep up with her siblings.
But after Chris gets her a mobility scooter, her siblings have to keep up with her.
This season, fans also saw a plastic surgeon turn Tammy down for skin removal. While it was difficult for the TLC star to process, she’s still enjoying her European getaway with her siblings. Many viewers are proud of Tammy for coming such a long way. And it seems like she’s proud of her progress as well.
The TLC star shared an inspirational quote on her Instagram stories.
“I love when I realize I’m handling a situation better than my old self would have,” the quote reads.
1000-Lb Best Friends star Vannessa Cross has never met Tammy Slaton in person, but she’s one of her biggest cheerleaders. In a recent interview, Vannessa admitted she understood how painful it was to be turned away for skin removal. Tammy might be disappointed for now, but Vannessa doesn’t want her to give up.
“I would love to be there for [Tammy] more. She’s doing really good,” Vannessa told Access Hollywood. “I’m so proud of her and Amy too. I think they’re doing amazing with their weight loss. Really, all of them are doing good, but honey, Tammy is blowing it out of the water. And I don’t want her to get discouraged just because that plastic surgeon said she needed to wait a certain amount of time.”
