Amanda Halterman is working on her self-confidence amid her weight loss journey.
On March 15, the 1000-Lb. Sisters star and older sister of Tammy and Amy Slaton posted a photo on Instagram alongside her boyfriend, getting candid about her struggles in the caption.
“I know what it’s like to struggle with self-confidence,” the 44-year-old wrote. “Mellow reminds me every day of how he sees me through his eyes, and it helps so much.”
“Do you ever find it hard to see yourself the way others do? Or maybe it’s tough to fully accept the compliments you get?” she said. “I’m learning to love myself enough to accept both the compliments and the constructive criticism, and I can feel myself growing into the person I’m meant to be. I hope you’re finding that too! ❤️”
Halterman was seemingly referring to the heaps of praise she’s received recently from followers on social media about her weight loss.
“Congratulations on that weight loss! What a huge difference!” one follower wrote under her recent picture, while another said, “You look so happy and healthy! ❤️”
One Instagram user also commented, “Blimey Amanda, you’ve lost loads more weight! Well done!”
Similar to her sisters Tammy and Amy, Halterman’s weight loss has been documented on 1000-Lb. Sisters after joining the TLC show during season 4. She underwent bariatric surgery in March 2023 and has lost more than 300 lbs.
Halterman recently had a setback with her health following a recent bout of COVID-19 earlier this year that landed her in the hospital for three days, requiring a heart monitor.
On Feb. 28, she posted an update on Instagram, sharing that she’s since been recovering well.
“I’ve got the heart monitor off. I feel so much better,” she said at the time. “I don’t have any answers as far as what happened, but I’m definitely taking care of myself.”
“I was very very sick,” she admitted. “But I’m good. I feel well and every day I’m feeling more and more like myself.”
