‘General Hospital’ Michael Corinthos Recast Back For Nurses’ Ball?
The Nurses’ Ball on General Hospital began in 1994 as a fundraiser for HIV/AIDS awareness. It hasn’t consistently aired every year since then, but it is back this year. Fans of the show are desperately missing Michael Corinthos. Could a recast bring the character home for the Ball?
General Hospital Fans Divided Over Return Of Nurses’ Ball
The Nurses’ Ball aired every year from 1994 through 2001. It returned in 2013 in honor of the show’s 50th anniversary. The 2020 Nurses’ Ball was a telethon for frontline workers amid the coronavirus pandemic. It wasn’t held in 2021 or 2022 because of the pandemic. It returned in 2023 but took a break for 2024.
With the help of Lynn Herring, who plays the gala’s host, Lucy Coe, General Hospital announced on social media earlier this month that the Nurses’ Ball will return next month. But not all viewers are happy about it. Check out some of the mixed reactions on social media.

The Nurses’ Ball always features at least one surprise, and we don’t mean an actor’s unknown singing talent.
Michael Corinthos Recast Back For Special Event?
Many GH fans think Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) secret about the child she had by Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) will come out at the Nurses’ Ball. There’s also speculation of a surprise return from either Michael Corinthos or Spencer Cassadine. Chad Duell (Michael) and Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Spencer) left the show, and fans think both characters should be recast.
Robert Adamson, who temporarily stepped into the role of Michael on several occasions, recently blasted the show for not letting him audition for the recast. His post seemed to confirm rumors that General Hospital was in the process of recasting the role.
Fans think that the Nurses’ Ball is the perfect time for Michael Corinthos to come home after seeking burn treatment overseas.
Who Will Perform At 2025 Nurses’ Ball?
The Nurses’ Ball has seen some memorable performances over the years. The first Ball saw fan-favorite couple Robin (Kimberly McCullough) and Stone (Michael Sutton) perform Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Stone passed away from AIDS in 1995. Robin took the stage at the Nurses’ Ball in 1996 to reveal that she had tested HIV+ after having unprotected s*x with Stone before he was diagnosed.
General Hospital has a cast full of talented actors, but many of them are also accomplished singers. Ned (Wally Kurth) will likely take the stage to perform. Actress Tabyana Ali (Trina) hinted on social media last month that she recorded a song for the Nurses’ Ball.
