Chaos between Deadliest Catch Crew and Captain Rick puts all crew members in danger!!!
Deadliest Catch crew member ‘goes rogue’ as Captain Rick fumes at ‘bonehead’ move

Deadliest Catch is back this year with its twentieth season. The Discovery series sees many familiar faces returning to their boats. Sig Hansen, ‘Wild’ Bill Wichrowski, Johnathan Hillstrand, Keith Colburn and co are battling against the brutal weather conditions and challenges of crab fishing in the Bering Sea.
Airing Tuesdays at 8 pm on the Discovery Channel, Deadliest Catch has been jam-packed with drama since the very first episode. From fires on-board the F/V Wizard, to a crew member’s hip popping out of its socket, the cast has had many hurdles to overcome already.
Deadliest Catch crew ‘goes rogue’
During Deadliest Catch season 20 episode 3, Titan Among Men, tensions flare between two captains as a rookie makes an error.
Captain of the F/V Aleutian Lady, Rick Shelford, expresses his frustrations when the captain-in-training launches a rogue set.
Rick can be seen looking for his pots and says: “It’s our pot but it is far from where it should be…”
Jacob had set a 30-pot string near Wizard gear. Rick says: “Not happy about this,” as it becomes clear it’s Jacob who set the pots close to Keith’s string.
Discovery star’s ‘bonehead’ move
It had been 20 hours since the pots had been set out before Captain Rick said: “OK, this is going to p*** me off.”
The Discovery Channel star adds: “Could you set these pots any closer to Keith’s string, dude?”
Seriously disappointed, Rick says: “He runs off to follow freaking Keith? I mean come on, man.
“Jacob, when you call an audible, make sure you don’t set it on top of another boat’s gear.”
Seemingly unbothered, Jacob replies: “I didn’t know it would drift that far into each other’s pots.”
Rick comments: “This was a bonehead move on Jacob’s part, he should not have done this.”
However, when the haul comes back to the boat, Jacob says he’s “glad” he set the string on top of Keith’s.
Fans take to X (Twitter) on the scene to say: “Of course Jacob tries to steal crab,” and more call him “childish.”
