‘General Hospital’ Eden McCoy Talks William Lipton’s Return

General Hospital fans recently saw the loss of Evan Hofer’s Dex Heller. However, recent events also saw the return of William Lipton as Cameron Webber. Actress Eden McCoy, who plays Josslyn Jacks on the soap, recently shared what it was like reuniting with Lipton on and off the set.

Eden McCoy Has Worked Quite Closely With William Lipton In The Past

McCoy first appeared as Josslyn on General Hospital back in 2015. The character had been portrayed by various actresses beforehand, with McCoy taking on the role from actress Hannah Nordberg.

Notably, McCoy and fellow General Hospital actor William Lipton both attended the University of Southern California. During their time together on the soap, which lasted from 2018 to 2023, the two were said to work close together.

As noted by Soap Opera Digest, the actress noted that she learned about Lipton’s return straight from the actor himself. She noted, “He called me a few weeks ago to tell me that he was coming back, and obviously, I was just ecstatic. I love this thing they do with him [since Cameron left town to enroll at Stanford University] where they bring him back for an episode here and there.”

McCoy noted that the last time Cameron returned, it was for Spencer’s funeral. This time, however, the character returned for something more festive: the holiday season.

However, as McCoy noted, this doesn’t mean things are going to be jolly during Cameron’s return. As she noted, “Dex had died literally the night before. And Josslyn has to reveal to Cam that this has just happened.”

McCoy Also Talked About Spending Time With Lipton When Cameras Weren’t Filming

“Cam leaves such space for Josslyn in those moments to be vulnerable and to grieve and to be upset in front of him, and not to feel bad. Their conversation is really beautiful. I think Josslyn feels a lot of gratitude for their friendship and for all of the time that they got together.”

McCoy shared that she was happy Cameron’s return was written into the show. She noted, “It was so weighted and so beautiful. I was just crying the whole time. I don’t even think I’m crying in the scenes, but I remember that Will, who is such a sweetheart, was just like, ‘I’m just so happy to see you!’ and there I was, crying in between takes. It was a really sweet reunion, and I was super-excited that he was there.”

The actress shared that she and Lipton spent some quality time together when they weren’t being filmed. She noted, “We caught up all day in between filming, and he’s doing so well.”

McCoy also noted that Lipton was currently involved with an Amazon series, The Runarounds, in which he plays a musician with his real-life bandmates. She shared that, “I’m so excited to see it and so happy for him. I love when good things happen to actual good people!”
