Sarper described his previous life as “peaceful,” with no emotional chains or stress, and rated his happiness back then as a steady “four, five, or six.” However, his current circumstances, including the challenges of adjusting to a new country and the responsibilities of a serious relationship, have left him feeling overwhelmed and questioning his decisions.
One of the major sources of Sarper’s unhappiness is the drastic lifestyle change he has experienced since moving to the U.S. He left behind a life where he could do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted, and now finds himself unable to work or even open a bank account due to his visa status. Sarper admitted that he made a “big gamble” by leaving everything behind for Shekinah, including his independent and carefree life. He described himself as a “professional narcissist” before meeting Shekinah, someone who prioritized his own happiness above all else. However, his relationship with Shekinah has forced him to confront new responsibilities and emotions, which he is still learning to navigate. Despite these challenges, Sarper emphasized his commitment to Shekinah, stating that he has remained loyal to her and views their relationship as proof of his love.
