Northrop is well-remembered for his portrayal of the tough yet compassionate Detective Roman Brady on DOOL, a role he held from 1981 to 1984, with a return from 1991 to 1994.
He made another comeback as Dr. Alex North from 2005 to 2006, who was a medical school classmate of Roman’s wife, Dr. Marlena Evans, played by Deidre Hall.
In addition to this, he took on the role of chauffeur Michael Culhane in the first season of Dynasty in 1981, later reprising it in Season 7.
His impressive resume includes appearances in The Waltons as Jeb, Hotel as Ross Reynolds and Mike Passmore, L.A. Law as Lieutenant Bill Ringstrom, and Cold Case, and Rex Stanton on Port Charles.

Wayne was born on April 12, 1947, in Sumner, Washington. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Washington before taking an acting class at Seattle Community College, which sparked his journey into acting in Los Angeles.
In 1975, he became a member of Ralph Waite’s newly established Los Angeles Actors’ Theatre, where he secured an agent and landed his first television role in an episode of Police Story.

A devoted advocate for wildlife and conservation, Wayne and Lynn bought a working cattle ranch in Raymond, California, in the late 1980s.
In 2008, they acquired the oldest house in Raymond, built in 1886, and transformed it into a museum that is now recognized on the historical registry.
Wayne is remembered fondly by his wife Lynn, sons Hank (and his wife Laura) and Grady, as well as his stepmother Janet Northrop.
